Mrs. Karylle Tatlonghari Yuzon, 36, who is mononymously known as Karylle, and Yael Yuzon, 34, will celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary on March 22, 2018. More than a month before the anniversary, Karylle will have a Valentine’s Day concert titled “Date Night.”
I had the opportunity to interview Karylle one-on-one during the press conference for “Date Night” on February 5, 2018 at the Full Belly Craft Kitchen in Quezon City, Metro Manila. First, I asked the "It's Showtime" host the perennial question about love, “When or how do you say that he or she is the one?”
“I think it’s different for everyone,” Karylle replied. But for her, when the person makes everything light for you, not the other way around, that is when you can say that person is the one.
I then asked Karylle what she thought was the ideal age for a woman to get married. She said when she was young, she used to think it was 18 or 20.
“It’s hard to rush love,” Karylle pointed out. “But also, science now helps so some women can risk getting married older.”
On overcoming a big heartbreak, Karylle talked about people posting their grievances online. She said it is okay for those who use social media as their outlet and can handle the backlash but for those who could not handle it should not because they might just end up regretting it.
Before getting married to Yael, Karylle herself experienced a big heartbreak. What she did to overcome it was to sing romantic songs and even went to the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City, for a retreat.
Lastly, I asked Karylle to enumerate romantic places in the Philippines. She cited Manila House, Manila Biennale, Rockstar by Center Stage and Poblacion, Makati.
On February 14, 2018 at 9 p.m., Karylle and her band the Passport Holders will perform at the Manila House, which is located at Bonifacio Global City. Also performing as guests during the Valentine’s Day concert titled “Date Night” are Kris Lawrence, Froilan Canlas and Charles Kevin Tan.
