Mixed martial arts experts have spoken about the upcoming rematch between Vitaly Bigdash and Aung La N Sang. One of them is Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao.

From my personal perspective, I would say that Aung La N Sang was not content with his performance during their first match, considering he was notified about it just two weeks before,” Sangiao said in a statement released by ONE Championship. “But this time, he has been given a second chance to prove that he is a worthy title contender.”

Sangiao is the mentor of reigning ONE lightweight world champion Eduard "Landslide" Folayang. The former was a featherweight champion himself before devoting his full time as the head coach of Team Lakay.

As a martial artist, Sangiao pointed out the importance of sufficient physical and mental preparation and training. What he expects from the rematch between Bigdash and Aung is an action-filled performance.

What Bigdash needs to do to keep the ONE middleweight world champion title, Sangiao said, is to maintain his conditioning and overpower Aung. The Russian fighter has good striking skills and the MMA world has already witnessed what he can do, the Team Lakay head coach added.

Sangiao acknowledged the power and conditioning that Bigdash has. If Aung La N Sang can compensate for this, he has a big chance to dethrone Bigdash and having the Yangon crowd will help boost his morale and confidence, the coach said.

On June 30, Bigdash and Aung will battle it out for the second time at “ONE Championship: Light of a Nation” at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar. This will be six months after their first match at Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia, at “ONE Championship: Quest for Power,” which the ONE middleweight champion won via unanimous decision.

“The first bout was an absolute showcase of incredible skill and unwavering determination, and the rematch promises nothing short of another classic,” ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said in a statement obtained by Conan Daily. “We have an absolutely stacked card from top to bottom prepared for Yangon, and it will be a night fans will not want to miss.”

Most of the fighters in the “ONE Championship: Light of a Nation” fight card are from Myanmar. According to Sityodtong, ONE Champion is giving Yangon “something new, a much deeper roster of talents.”
