Mark "Mugen" Striegl is one of the MMA fighters who are rooting for Eduard "The Landslide" Folayang in his upcoming fight against Ev "E.T." Ting. On April 21, Folayang will defend his lightweight title for the first time at "ONE Championship: Kings of Destiny" at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
Born to an American father and a Filipino mother in Tokyo, Japan, Striegl has been a resident of Baguio City, Philippines, since 2011. Folayang, a Team Lakay member, was born in Baguio City to parents who are natives of Mountain Province.

"Ev is a strong fighter but I think everything that he does well, Eduard does better," Striegl said on March 28. "I'm confident Eduard will win."
Ting responded to this on April 6, Thursday. Referring to Striegl, the Malaysian fighter said, "Tell that clown I will fight him as warm up before Eduard for free."
When asked whether or not he gets intimidated by Folayang, Ting said, "All I know is my job is to go in there and fight for a world championship for 25 minutes on the 21st (of) April. No emotions."
Striegl finds Ting's statement "hilarious." Referring to Ting, Striegl said on April 7, Friday, "This guy calls me a clown and a warm-up but he's the one who finished our fight sleeping and came in 7 pounds overweight for our rematch."
On Feb. 11, 2012, Striegl and Ting battled it out at "Legend FC 7" in Macau, China, and the former won via rear-naked choke. It was Ting's first MMA loss.
On Nov. 9, 2013, Ting had the chance to redeem himself in a rematch with Striegl at "PXC 41" at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City. However, Ting missed 7 lbs so Striegl was left without an opponent.
"Ev is a joke," Striegl said. "Eduard is going to kill him and everybody knows Kamal won that fight."

Striegl was referring Kamal Shalorus, who has fought both Folayang and Ting. On Feb. 10, Ting won via a split decision at "ONE Championship: Throne of Tigers" in Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, over Shalorus, who defeated Folayang via a unanimous decision at "ONE FC 9: Rise to Power" at the Mall of Asia Arena on March 14, 2014.
Folayang has yet to comment on Striegl and Ting's statements. Meanwhile, watch a trailer of an upcoming documentary featuring Striegl, actor Vernon Hanwell and Philippines' Father of Alternative Cinema Kidlat Tahimik here:
