Katrina Halili, 31, is back on the small screen as she plays a mistress in the drama-comedy series “D’ Originals.” It appears that the new GMA7 show made one of dreams come true.

Halili and her “D’ Originals” co-stars attended the blog conference for the new show on April 5, Wednesday, at GMA Network Center, Quezon City. In an interview during the event, the actress mentioned that she was a frustrated comedian.

During the interview, Halili also talked about keeping herself in shape. She said she has been trying to lose for quite some time but her role on “D’ Originals” pushed her even harder to do so because it requires her wear swimsuit.

In 2003, Halili joined the second season of the GMA reality talent competition show titled “StarStruck” and placed eighth. Since then, she became known for playing villain roles.

Among the most memorable TV roles Halili played were Señora Angelika Santibañez/Angelika Aldama in “MariMar,” Lucy Gutierrez/Lady Mantisa in “Carlo J. Caparas’ Gagambino,” Fedra Perez in “Rosalina” and Serpina/Babaeng Anakonda in “Mars Ravelo’s Darna.” Most recently, she played Scarlet Morato-Mercado in “Sa Piling Ni Nanay,” which aired from June 27, 2016 to Jan. 27.

On the big screen, Halili starred in “Super Noypi,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll 9” and “One Night Only,” among others. She had a cameo appearance in the 2008 Korean movie “Romantic Island” and in the 2011 Filipino film “My Neighbor’s Wife.”

In “D’ Originals,” Halili will play one of the mistresses named Yvette Binetez. Hailing from Palawan, the character is driven by her ambitions and is set to venture the city.

Success means money for Yvette. This kind of mentality, among other things, will lead her to Lando Magpayo (Jestoni Alarcon), the husband of Josie Magpayo (Jaclyn Jose).

“D’ Originals” will premiere on GMA7 on April 17 at 4:30 p.m. Watch a video of Katrina Halili during the blog conference for the show here:
