Fresh off the success of renowned director, Brillante Mendoza enters his film starring Jaclyn Jose, Best Actress of the 69th Cannes Film Festival.

Mendoza said that he had spoken with the committee regarding his plan to enter the Metro Manila Film Festival this coming december, "I already asked the committee. It's possible. Sabi nila okay lang, basta huwag lang magkaroon ng commercial screening before Metro Manila Film Festival."

Atty. Emerson Carlos, MMFF and MMDA chairman said that finished films intended as entries must not be shown publicly or in any film festival prior to their submission to the MMFF.
Last year's controversial film was Erik Matti's "Honor Thy Father" resulting to a disqualification from the Best Picture category as it was the opening film of the Cinema One Originals, a month before the festival.

But Mendoza will still be entering "Ma'Rosa" in other film festivals around the world in the following months to come.

A story about a mother who owns a small sari-sari store and sells drugs on the side with her husband. They got caught by corrupt police officers in a buy-bust operation and it's up to their children to come up with the money for their bail.
