Few days remain until the 69th Festival de Cannes, and the 2016 big event is getting closer by the minute.

Brillante Mendoza film MA' Rosa has been selected to compete for this years Cannes Film Festival.

MA' Rosa stars Jaclyn Jose, Julio Diaz, Andi Eigenmann, Felix Roco and Jomari Angeles.

It is a story about a small community convenient store connected to their home in the slums of Metropolitan Manila.

The story was researched and written by Troy Espiritu.

The list of films for the 2016 Official Selection has been announced at the press conference!

Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, Jesse Eisenberg, Steve Carell and Parker Posey are expected on Cannes’ red carpet on May 11th. Alongside Woody Allen, they will present Café Society, opening film of the 69th edition ! Screened in the Official Selection, the movie will be released the same day in French cinemas.

The official poster for the 69th Festival de Cannes, taking place from 11th to 22nd of May and presided over by Australian director George Miller, was designed using stills from Jean-Luc Godard's film Contempt (Le Mépris).

This years' Festival de Cannes will be presided by the Australian director, screenwriter and producer, George Miller. Along with his Jury, it will fall to him to award the Palme d’or at the close of the Festival, to be held on the 22nd of May.

Actor Laurent Lafitte has agreed to be Master of Ceremonies throughout the 69th Festival. The actor and comedian will host the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday 11th May and the prize giving during the Closing Ceremony on Sunday 22nd May.
It's all there. The steps, the sea, the horizon: a man's ascent towards his dream, in a warm Mediterranean light that turns to gold. As an image it is reminiscent of a timeless quote by Michel Mourlet used at the beginning of Contempt (Le Mépris) : "Cinema replaces our gaze with a world in harmony with our desires”. (...)
