‘MLTV’ focuses on Filipiniana
With many of our countrymen making inroads across several industries worldwide, Pinoy Pride is at an all-time high and so the further interest in and support for anything and everything Filipino.
Getting on with this spirit, the July 4 episode of “Modern Living TV” presents segments that will keep head held high.
Space 2000, a local furniture brand, reinvents traditional Filipiniana furniture pieces into luxe and contemporary pieces. The segment shows just how ingenious and creative Pinoys are in making use of local materials then crafted into things of beauty, function and, above all, identity.
Those familiar with the folk song “Bahay Kubo” will have a smile on their faces once they see interior designer Frenjick Quesada’s new bahay na bato. Instead of being small and full of vegetables as lyrics of the song goes, Quesada beautifully melds the old world charm of the Bahay na Bato with modern-day design sensibilities. It’s one stunning and functional home for a young family.
In the news recently is international awe over Pinoy food. A report even said it could go the way Japanese and Thai cuisines have conquered palates worldwide. Really? Well, watch celebrated chef Rob Pengson give a sampling of his inventive and thought-provoking take on Filipino cuisine right in his own kitchen. You’ll probably find yourself saying “Mabuhay!” if not “Sarap!” in no time.
As a bonus, “Moden Living TV” features Samsung Smart Kitchen Tools that save on time while going green using the brand’s appliances.
"Modern Living TV" is hosted by Bianca Gonzales and Stephanie Zubiri. The show airs Saturdays at 6 p.m. with replays the next day at 10 a.m. both on the ANC Channel.
