JASON DERULO MAKES TOP 40 HISTORY
"WANT TO WANT ME" MUSIC VIDEO LAUNCHES ON WILDLY POPULAR SOCIAL APP, TINDER
Warner Bros artist Mr. Radio, aka Jason Derulo, has set another milestone with "Want To Want Me" becoming the most added track in the history of Top 40 radio, besting the records of pop royalty such as Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Madonna and Katy Perry. Shattering the previous record held by Justin Timberlake at 126, Derulo's "Want To Want Me" was added to 156 monitored pop stations, making it the biggest Top 40 US radio launch ever.
Released in early March, the '80s-inspired pop tune, "Want To Want Me" was produced by Grammy-nominated producer, Ian Kirkpatrick, and written by Kirkpatrick, Sam Martin, Lindy Robbins, Mitch Allan and Derulo himself.
"I still can't believe this ride. I couldn't walk two years ago and now I am breaking records."
No stranger to success, Jason dominated radio as the most played male artist in 2014. After the recent release of his new infectious single "Want To Want Me," the triple threat, singer, songwriter, and dancer, Jason Derulo is already proving to be unstoppable in 2015.
In addition to breaking records, Jason is taking an unconventional approach to releasing his new music video through the extremely popular social app, Tinder. Jason states, "I wanted to find a new unique way to launch my video. I know my fans are tapped into social networking so what better way to launch my video for 'Want To Want Me' than through one of the fastest rising social networking apps, Tinder. I see this app as the wave of the future. I know my fans will swipe right."
In just five years, Jason Derulo went from writing songs for Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Diddy, Sean Kingston, and others, to selling over 45 million singles worldwide and racked up over 1.7 billion views on YouTube, 1 billion plays on Spotify, and a radio audience of over 17 billion. To date, he has 10 career-defining platinum singles, including "The Other Side," "Talk Dirty" (feat. 2 Chainz), "Wiggle" (feat. Snoop Dogg), "Whatcha Say," and "It Girl."
Tinder is the world's leading social app for meeting new people. With its global reach, Tinder has users in more than 140 countries around the world and is a top 10 lifestyle app in more 70 countries. In March 2015, Tinder introduced Tinder Plus, giving users access to premium features Rewind and Passport. Each day, 26 million matches are made on Tinder. There are currently 6 billion matches made total.
