We were taught that teachers are considered as our second parents. We owe a lot to them. Words can't express but we deeply appreciate their efforts to impart their knowledge to us. They truly deserve a great reward that will pay back for all the hard-work and dedication they gave. As we celebrate National Teachers’ Month in this year’s Grand Gathering event at the SM Mall of Asia Arena we honor all the teachers we had in our lives.

For many years, PLDT has been responsible for paying tribute to our teachers thru its advocacy project called 2G.

Gabay Guro or 2G is an education arm and a flagship project of the PLDT-SMART Foundation. It is a program run by volunteers composed of the PLDT Manager's Club Inc.

The core of the program are its pillars which defines the program of Gabay Guro.
  • Scholarships. In June this year, 2G and PLDT Hong Kong launched a scholarship program for Overseas Filipino Workers’ (OFW) children and dependents. They also sponsored 110 OFW teacher-candidates in their review and venue fees for the Licensure Examination for teachers.
  • Trainings.  The training pillar develops competency and mindset building programs designed to uplift the capabilities and passion of our teachers to teach and educate.
  • Housing and Educational Facilities
  • Livelihood. Programs ASA Philippines Foundation, Inc. a not-for-profit organization devoted to helping an increasing number of poor Filipino families rise out of poverty by providing micro-financing to help them establish or otherwise improve their own micro-enterprises that shall result in increasing family incomes and savings while giving them greater access to life support goods and services, in the most cost-effective sustainable manner.
