Maintaining segment leadership on the back of innovative offers and deals

            Globe Telecom’s postpaid business remains one of its strongest growth drivers, consistently posting double-digit growth in revenues and subscriber base as of third quarter this year on the back of innovative postpaid offers and deals.

            The company’s postpaid segment continued to provide solid contribution to the company’s overall mobile business with revenues amounting to P20.0 billion, a 20% increase from previous year’s P16.7 billion.

            Postpaid revenues contributed 37% of total mobile revenues, up from 33% last year, as business continues to scale.

            Meanwhile, postpaid customer base has grown to 1.98 million subscribers ending the first nine months of the year, a 19% increase from previous year’s 1.66 million and a 4% growth from previous quarter, attributed to strong acquisition programs led by the fully-customizable mySUPERPLAN which allows customers to create the perfect plan that best fits their budget and lifestyle.

            With mySUPERPLAN, subscribers get a postpaid plan that has double the value of prepaid load, a wide range of combos and boosters, up-to-date device offerings, and flexible contract periods ranging from 6 to 24 months. This year, mySUPERPLAN gained traction among new customers for Plans 499, 999, and 1799.

Amidst competition’s intense switching drive and aggressive pricing, the company’s strategy to grow its postpaid base remains sound, as the absolute growth in postpaid revenues alone for the first nine months of the year was almost double the increase in absolute investments in subsidies and re-contracting costs for new and existing subscribers during the same period.

Overall mobile subscriber gross and net additions reached 22.1 million and 3.4 million, 23% and 69% higher year-on-year, respectively, bringing total mobile subscriber base to 36.5 million as of end-September, up 14% versus the same period in 2012.

Looking at ending the year on a high note, the telco’s postpaid segment recently unveiled the iPhone Forever, an upgrade program that allows new and existing subscribers to enjoy the latest iPhone every year for as low as P1,599 per month. Subscribers can also avail of the newest iPhones under mySUPERPLAN for as low as P1,349 monthly. Both plan bundles come with Long Term Evolution (LTE) surfing and a monthly consumable amount for calls and texts.

On top of the innovative and value for money offers, Globe subscribers also get a free subscription to Globe Gadget Care, the complete mobile phone protection program against theft and accidental damage available in the market today, and free access to Facebook along with customer experience innovations until January 2014.
