Globe Telecom, through its BangonPinoy program (#BangonPinoy), has put up a LibrengTawag center at the Philippine Naval Base in Cebu as more evacuees from the typhoon ravaged provinces in Eastern Visayas flee their devastated hometowns.
Reports said that about 2,000 people are expected to arrive in Cebu today (Monday) via the Philippine Navy's LC 550, thus, the need for immediate communication services.
With Globe LibrengTawag, the typhoon victims are provided with the means of getting in touch with their friends and relatives not only in Cebu but also in other parts of the Philippines and abroad.
Earlier, two LibrengTawag Centers were set up atMactan International Airport in Cebu and atVillamor Airbase in Pasay City for arriving evacuees. Libreng Internet is also being offered by Globe at the Mactan Airbase.
Globe currently has 19LibrengTawag stations, 34Libreng Charging sites, 8LibrengTawag and Charging booths, and two Libreng Internet facilities in Iloilo, Cebu, Leyte, Bohol, Antique, Capiz, and Pasay City.
Meanwhile, Globe BangonPinoy continues to call for donations either in cash or in kind. Relief goods such as clothes, footwear, mosquito nets, and blankets may be dropped off in all Globe Prepaid On-The-Go caravans, details of which can be viewed from http://globe.com.ph/bangonpinoy. TM Republikaravan will also match every load credit sold in the caravans with a donation.
For cash donations to Red Cross, it may be done via Mobile GCash APP or by dialing *143#>GCash> Others > Donate > Amount > MPIN > Red Cross. Overseas Filipino Workers who want to help may also visit any GCash Remit partner outlet in the country where they are staying to send their donation.
