Following the leaked sex video involving Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda and his girlfriend, former “Star Circle Quest” finalist Neri Naig, a psychologist from St. Luke’s Medical Center shared why she thinks people record their intimate moments.

In an interview with “The Buzz” aired on Sunday, Dr. Maria Bernadette Arcena said she can think of two reasons why couples would create sex videos.

“Minsan kasi ang mga reasons nila for doing that is una, parang gusto nilang ma-remember kung ano ang ginawa nilang something na special for both of them,” Arcena said.

In addition to that, Arcena said: “[Puwede rin], sabihin na natin na nakakaengganyo din. It can give them more pleasure kapag ginagawa nila ito.”

But in the case of Miranda and Naig, Arcena said it was most probably a personal and private decision which they agreed upon.

Being public figures, Arcena said the leaked video will definitely affect the couple’s relationship.

"Traumatic talaga na 'yung madlang people ay makikita na kayo ay may ginagawa na ganitong sex video. Puwede rin maapektuhan ang kanilang relasyon. Sino kayang nagpalabas? There would be some blaming each other na issues," she said.

Despite this, Arcena lauded Miranda’s immediate admission, saying the singer’s action to swiftly address the incident made a lot of difference.

“Ang pag-amin naman ay isang bagay na nakakalambot ng puso ng tao at sana nga pagkatapos nito ay manumbalik ang tiwala ng tao. Madaming taong naapektuhan, 'yung image nila can be affected, so importante din naman na nandoon ang realization na kailangan ayusin ang dapat ayusin,” she said.

A day after their sex video leaked, Miranda issued an apology through Parokya ni Edgar’s official Facebook page which has over 3 million followers.

"We are truly saddened by the fact na may nag-leak na private video of me and my girlfriend, Neri Naig," he said.
He added: "Humihingi po ako ng paumanhin sa mga pamilya namin for this unfortunate incident. Thank you for your prayers."

On his Twitter account, Miranda said his room was recently robbed. Among those stolen was his hard disk drive, where photo and video files were stored.

"Our hard drive was stolen from our room in our house along with several other stuff. Kung sino ka man, God bless," he said.
