Manila, Philippines –The minions of “Despicable Me 2” invaded the Philippine screens making the animation sequel the all-time highest opening weekend for an animation.

“Despicable Me 2”, the follow-up to the 2010 movie broke box office records garnering a total of over Php125M ticket sales after a 5 – day weekend performance with over 190 screens nationwide.

The sequel to the 2010 animated blockbuster about a villain named Gru who turns into a crime buster and loving father to three young girls. Starring the vocal talents of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig and Russell Brand, the family blockbuster movie is showing across the Philippines in IMAX, 3D and 2D cinemas.
