Empire of the Sun has unveiled the cover art and track listing for its second album, Ice On The Dune

Astralwerks released the album in the US last June 18 and the band will make its US television debut that evening, performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Empire of the Sun – renowned for its larger-than-life live productions – will also play a series of US festival dates, including the Electric Daisy Carnival, Sasquatch!, Electric Forest, Kanrocksas, Summerfest and the Made in America Festival.
For the truly great artists, pop’s parameters are infinite, non-existent, unknown.
“This album is a lot more scoped out than the last one,” explains Emperor Steele. “We had to go further out to get what we were looking for. We’ve been like big wave surfers, chasing the songs.”
A twelve song master class in crystalline, ultra-vivid cosmic pop, Ice On The Dune takes the conceptual vision of BRIT nominated, ARIA sweeping, global smash Walking On A Dream and goes widescreen. In hyper-real HD with surround sound.
“Music for us is about articulating the feelings you can’t put into words,” adds Lord Littlemore. “In the same way different languages don’t fully translate, music can bridge that gap emotionally. We want to make music that is transcendental.”
Recorded in a “world tour of studios” in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and New Zealand Ice on the Dune is pop like you’ve never heard before. And pop as you’ve always known it. It’s music for the heart, the head, the feet and the soul (head-dress optional).
The adventure continues with Ice On The Dune, which Steele and Littlemore produced with the Walking on a Dream production team, Peter Mayes and Donnie Sloan. Recording took place in various studios around the globe – London, New Zealand, New York City, Miami, Los Angeles and Sydney. Many top talents were involved in mixing the album, including SerbanGhenea (Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, Taylor Swift), Jason Cox (Gorillaz) and Mark ‘Spike’ Stent (Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Depeche Mode).
Empire of the Sun is also known for its colorful and creative music videos, which have chalked up more than 40 million
