Koreans Want To Cancel Lady Gaga's Upcoming Concert

<p>Christian groups in South Korea called on Friday for pop icon Lady Gaga to cancel her concert here saying it was "pornographic" and promoted homosexuality.</p> <br/> <p>South Korea's government has already bowed to public pressure and banned under-18s from attending the 26-year old's concert, but protesters gathered outside the venue said that was not enough.</p> <br/> <p>"Some people can accept this as another culture but its impact is huge beyond art and debases religions. Even adults can't see her performance which is too homosexual and pornographic," said Yoon Jung-hoon, a reverend who organised the "Civilians Network against the Lady Gaga Concert".</p> <br/> <p>The singer's hit song "Born This Way" celebrates the empowerment of gay men and women, something that many in South Korea, which is the second most Christian country in Asia after the Philippines, say is an immoral lifestyle.</p> <br/> <p>Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has been in Seoul for close on a week as she kicks off her Asian "Born this Way" tour.</p> <br/> <p>"Nervous for tonight. Hope I make little monsters happy and proud," she Tweeted a few hours before the concert kicked off.</p> <br/> <p>Yoon's group claims to have collected 5,000 supporters on Facebook against the concert and some have also called for a boycott of the sponsor Hyundai Card. EARTHDAY JAM, the musical marathon for Mother Earth, on its 12 th year shows no signs of slowing down as it starts at 6 PM, with guitar donning, drum beating music ambassadors of Mother Earth in various genres as diverse as world music, alternative, rock, reggae and acoustic. Kicking off the festivities are salsa-samba El_Martinos drumbeaters whose performance segues to the Philippines premier Brazilian-fusion artist Nyko Maca with band Gafeiera. These will pave the way for an exciting journey of various musical performances from folk guru Noel Cabangon to the reggae laced set of Peace Pipe, an internationally renowned group who has won several awards abroad including “Artist of the Year” from Zim Carib radio in New Zealand. The pop-rock set will be dominated by women-fronted bands Imago, and jazz pinoy soul quartet, Sino Sikat. The rock-alternative scene, on the other hand, will bring in major bands, Kjwan, Mayonnaise, Radio Active Sago Project with witty frontman Lourd De Vera along with veteran artist-producer Lou Bonnevie. Boni High St. regular habitués are out to get a dose of modern 60’s with Bloomfields and the 80’s babies will reminisce with True Faith’s long list of hits from “Perfect” to “Huwag Na Lang Kaya”. Now a mother, Oria has gained a few wrinkles here and there albeit her beauty has not at all faded. In fact, she passed this trait on to her daughter Mabel (Isabel Daza). Mabel dreams of following the footsteps of her mom, but the latter disapproves of the idea reasoning that there must only be one beauty queen in the family.</p> <br/> <p>Mabel is so eager to pursue her dream and so she insisted in joining the Mutya ng Papaitan. But on the night she won the title, she was murdered. Pamela, Mabel’s arch-rival, was considered as the prime suspect and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Let us give them time to talk and settle their differences. We understand that both of them are hurting right now,” Gatmaytan said.</p> <br/> <p>“We appeal to everyone to give them space so these matters can be cleared up and let the family patch things up.”</p> <br/> <p>She added that her family is not taking sides on the issue.</p> <br/> <p>“They are both generous and supportive to the whole family, contrary to what is being reported by some sectors. We just hope that people would be fair. Wala naman kaming kinakampihan sa kanila dahil pareho naman namin silang kapatid at mahal namin sila pareho. It's the time when the US's TV networks prep for the new shows to air. Unlike our teleseryes, new shows are venues to showcase freshly discovered talent. Actors and actresses are eager to put their talents out there. Filipinos are not exempt and it's none other than fellow Filipino, our kababayan, Sam Milby who's in New York, grabbing every opportunity to be casted in one of 2012's pilot TV shows.</p> <br/> <p>We caught up with him in between auditions to give you the latest update on his journey to making it big in Hollywood and how he keeps a balance between family, career and his personal life. Without a doubt, with a little help from family and technology, this man can hold it together. </p> <br/> <p>Q:        How are you? How's New York?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        I'm really loving it here! This city has so much energy with so much diversity and [I'm] always meeting new people everyday. My phonebook for the US is gaining entries. (Smiles) It's a bit different, of course, with me living alone and doing everything myself but I'm really enjoying the experience especially because I'm learning a lot.</p> <br/> <p>Q:        I'm sure there are lots of opportunities here in New York, what are your upcoming projects? How do you see your career progressing?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        Well... I came here to pursue a career in New York. So far, it's been good. I've been getting a lot of good feedback. I've also been doing a lot of networking since it's my first year. But I'm thankful for the support back home. I get to talk [via mobile] to my network family and I'm encouraged because I'm secure that despite this move, my career will continue to progress in the Philippines. We're already planning a teleserye and a movie later this year.</p> <br/> <p>Q:        Who do you want to partner up with in your next project? Who's your next leading lady?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        There are a lot of talented actresses in the Philippines! I'm just privileged to be part of the industry. For my next projects... well, from what I've been hearing, my next planned project will be with Ms. Judy Ann Santos.</p> <br/> <p>Q:         Can you describe your typical day? What activities do you usually do during the weekday? Weekend?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        Iba-iba lagi. Hey, I'm in a city that never sleeps! And you can check my phone log to prove it. Haha! The month of February was mainly for auditions, which is the main part of Pilot season. This month has been more on meetings... networking. Last weekend I went to watch supercross with my Mom and Dad in Indianapolis, Indiana, which was great. I, also, was a part of the concert tour ni Angeline Quinto last month. By the end of the month, I'll be joining other fellow Star Magic artists in another tour. Everything's exciting!</p> <br/> <p>Q:        Not a dull day, I suppose. But I'm sure you miss the folks back home...</p> <br/> <p>Sam:         Definitely!</p> <br/> <p>Q:        So, given you're busy schedule, how do you manage to stay in touch with everyone here and in the US?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        Communication's a lot easier nowadays. My Galaxy Y Duos makes the whole world smaller. It’s so convenient because of its Hybrid DUAL ON feature which enables me to use two SIMs at the same time – one for communicating with my family and friends back in the Philippines and one for work here in New York. I can even call and text on one SIM while surfing or using some of my favorite Android applications like Voxer (which is like a walkie-talkie), Path, Facebook, and of course, Twitter... and now been also using Google Voice which allows me call the Philippines for a lot cheaper. My Galaxy Y Duos really makes communication easier and hassle-free. </p> <br/> <p>Q:         Do you see yourself staying here in New York for a while? Do you find difficulty adapting to life here?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        I can definitely see myself staying here. Such an amazing city; and like the song says, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. I didn't have much trouble adapting because I grew up here in the states. And it’s so much easier now to learn about the place since everything’s on the net and even more with all these cool apps available.</p> <br/> <p>Q:        Like what?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:         I ride the subway everyday so the app Subway Maps is a big help! There's also NYC guide - where I can find great restos. I could show you my whole app collection but you might run out of space. (laughs) No, but seriously, I would be having a much harder time getting around and buying things if it weren't for my Galaxy Y Duos.</p> <br/> <p>Q:        What are your future plans? When do you plan to visit the Philippines?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        Believing and hoping that things will work out here but also still going back to do teleseryes and movies in the Philippines.</p> <br/> <p>Q:        How's your love life? Where does your heart sit right now?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        Haha! I'm still single. But wow.... there are so many beautiful women in this city!</p> <br/> <p>Q:        Who do you miss the most in the Philippines? Why?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        Where do I begin? Even if I can easily communicate with everyone back home, it's different when you're together-- as in together, y'know? There are so many people I miss but if I had to really say one person, I would probably say my P.A. Nene. Just for the fact that she's been with me everyday for the last six years. I don't really look at her as my P.A. though at alam niya yun. She's family now. </p> <br/> <p>Q:        Who's your crush? Are you seeing somebody right now? (If yes, is she here or in the Philippines? Can you give us a clue who she is?)</p> <br/> <p>Sam:         Well... I did meet someone just the other day actually... she does modeling here.</p> <br/> <p>Q:        Can you describe her? What is she like?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        She's one-quarter Pinay, German, Dutch, Irish. College Graduate. Smart and very humble.</p> <br/> <p>Q:        Given your busy lifestyle, do you always get in-touch with her? How do you do it?</p> <br/> <p>Sam:        Not to send the wrong message – to be clear, we're just friends right now but we do chat through Twitter and text.</p> <br/> <p>Q:        Do you miss your fans? However, unknown to many, this young singer worked very hard to finally fulfill her dreams of having her own album – Universal Records’ latest release Emmanuelle.</p> <br/> <p>“From the first time I auditioned in front of executives of Universal, it took me around four years to finally have my album released,” shares Emmanuelle. “Upon the advise of my management Cornerstone and the label, I had to undergo series of voice lessons, learn to play instruments, write better songs, and practice my Tagalog.”</p> <br/> <p>These sacrifices, according to Emmanuelle, make this album extra special. Aside from being her first release, she feels that a lot of stories are enveloped in this album.</p> <br/> <p>The album’s carrier single Happy, a feel-good pop tune, was written by Emmanuelle when she was just 14 years old.</p> <br/> <p>“The inspiration for Happy? Well, one time, my best friend brought me home,” she says. “So, we tried to capture that in the music video with Ivan Dorschner.”</p> <br/> <p>Aside from Happy, Emmanuelle penned songs like Dear Diary, and Tonight. She also interpreted songs of Ito Rapadas (Sandali Lang) and Jude Gitamondoc (Sarap Mabuhay). Like what they say, you only live once so live life to the fullest,” she said.</p> <br/> <p>According to Mina’s lawyer, Reyes asked her older sister to turn over her sports utility vehicle as payment for the remaining P1.8-million balance for a Quezon City townhouse they bought for their mother last year.</p> <br/> <p>Mina claimed that Reyes has also been attacking her through text messages.</p> <br/> <p>“Nag-start lang nung sinabi ko na mag-usap tayo kasi marami akong naririnig na sinasabi mo,” Mina said. “Tapos nag-freak out na siya. ‘Wag na raw ako mag-text kung wala akong magandang sasabihin.”</p> <br/> <p>“Tapos tuluy-tuloy na, hindi ko siya sinasagot. For me it’s a vindication. My mom basically had to fight for her honor, fight for what she believed in. Nagsabi lang siya ng totoo,” she said.</p> <br/> <p>As for the affirmed 14 counts of libel, Gutierrez said Rama said those things merely as reactions to Montenegro’s false accusations.</p> <br/> <p>“That’s actually just a reaction to the child abuse case against her. Hindi naman niya sasabihin ang mga nasabi niya kung wala naman talagang kaso. A person can only take so much,” she said.</p> <br/> <p>Gutierrez said her mom is also just a human being who defends herself when she gets hurt.</p> <br/> <p>“Bilang isang tao, ang nanay ko nasasaktan din. So kung may nasabi siyang mga masasakit, pawang katotohanan lamag iyon at galing sa puso niya para i-defend ang sarili niya,” she said.</p> <br/> <p>She became emotional when she talked about how even her innocent children are being dragged into the issue.</p> <br/> <p>“Don’t include naman my children na wala namang kaalam-alam. Kapag isinasali pala ang mga anak, nagiging matapang ka rin pala. Huwag na sana idamay ang mga bata. How can a human being invent such thing? Where do they get this?” she said.</p> <br/> <p>Even his dad Eddie Gutierrez does not deserve to receive bad words because “he has honor and dignity.”</p> <br/> <p>“He’s the best dad that anyone can ever have and we’re not gonna allow anyone to ruin his reputation. Hindi na bale mommy ko, kaya naman niya eh. She’s a fighter... don’t talk about our dad kasi he’s one person na talagang mabait, walang tinatapakang tao,” he said.</p> <br/> <p>Asked if she is still hoping to regain friendship with Montenegro, Gutierrez said: “No I don’t think we could ever be friends again. Patigilin na natin ang mga bata. Mag-aaral na lang sila.’ Hindi raw puwede kasi package deal daw sila ng mga talents daw niya. Hindi daw puwede kasi masisira daw pangalan niya sa ganito,” she narrated.</p> <br/> <p>Why people should believe her stories?</p> <br/> <p>“Totoo lang ang sinasabi ko. It’s great to be reunited with my fans. I’m really happy to be here,” she said.</p> <br/> <p>Megia was also delighted to be invited to perform on “ASAP 2012.” Megia performed a duet with singer Zsa Zsa Padilla.</p> <br/> <p>“I’m really happy that they invited me on the show because I always watch this back home. I’m really excited to be on 'ASAP.' It’s an honor to be performing with Ms. Zsa Zsa,” she said.</p> <br/> <p>Megia is currently in Manila for a concert as part of her Asian tour. Her regrets that she cannot stay longer in the country.</p> <br/> <p>“It’s actually my second [stop]. Unfortunately I’ll be leaving tomorrow for Bali and then Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur and then I’ll go back home. I wish I could stay longer,” she said.</p> <br/> <p>“It’s been such a short stay so I feel kinda bad that I don’t get to stay here longer but I’m hoping that I’ll be back here soon,” Megia added.</p> <br/> <p>On American Idol Season 11's Jessica Sanchez:</p> <br/> <p>Known to be a friend of current “American Idol” contestant Jessica Sanchez, Megia said she only wishes the best for the Filipino-Mexican-American singer.</p> <br/> <p>“Just keep doing what you’re doing. You’re doing amazing so just keep going with what you’re after,” she said.</p> <br/> <p>According to Megia, she was not really surprised when Sanchez nearly got booted off the competition because she was sure the judges would use the “save” on her.</p> <br/> <p>“I kinda knew that they’re going to use the save on her obviously. Ara Mina Awaits Cristine Reyes' Counter-Affidavit

<p><a href='http://lh5.ggpht.com/-V3iE2Mvjvaw/T5MOi1QWy7I/AAAAAAAACYU/dRt3kPwwkcs/s0/aracristine-229x300.jpg'><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-V3iE2Mvjvaw/T5MOi1QWy7I/AAAAAAAACYU/dRt3kPwwkcs/s800/aracristine-229x300.jpg" /></a></p><p>Ara Mina is expecting that a subpoena will be issued next week to compel Cristine Reyes to answer the legal charges filed against her by her older sister.</p> <br/> <p>Following the recent filing of libel and grave coercion cases against her by Mina, Reyes is anticipated to appear before the Quezon City fiscal’s office to defend herself from the said charges.</p> <br/> <p>“Naisampa na [ang kaso] sa fiscal’s office, at inaasahan namin na sa darating na linggo ay madadalhan na ng subpoena si Cristine para siya ay pumunta sa fiscal’s office at doon magpaliwanag,” Atty. Enrique dela Cruz, Mina’s lawyer, said in an interview on “Showbiz Inside Report.”</p> <br/> <p>Once Reyes is summoned to the fiscal’s office, she will have a chance to file a counter-affidavit. Should the case be deemed with probable cause, it will then be taken to court.</p> <br/> <p>“Magkakaroon siya (Reyes) ng pagkakataon magbigay ng counter-affidavit, and then kung mapapatunayan ng piskal na may basehan ang reklamo, ito’y isasampa sa korte,” dela Cruz added.</p> <br/> <p>Meanwhile, Viva Artists Agency, the talent firm managing Mina and Reyes, said it is saddened by the turn of events involving its two priced contract artists.</p> <br/> <p>“The Viva Artists Agency is saddened by the current issue between two of its stars, Cristine Reyes and Ara Mina,” General Manager Veronique del Rosario-Corpus said in a statement. “The management will do its best to try to mediate between the two, even as we will let the court run its due course. And similarly, ‘pag halimbawa nagda-drive ka naman, pwede ka mag-text sa mom mo, sa dad mo, mag-hi, parang ganun,” he said.<br> <br>The Sponge Cola vocalist also shared that he has become close to Zsa Zsa Padilla, Karylle’s mom.<br> <br>“Nakakatuwa naman, kasi okay siya kasama eh. Para ka lang may kasama na isa pang kabarkada, na maraming jokes, na nakakatawa rin,” he said.<br> <br>“Ang-insightful [niya], ang-dami na niyang pinagdaanan not just in life, but also as a performer, as an artist. Tapos ‘pag nag-uusap kami, marami akong natutunan.
