One second before the third round ends, Filipino boxer Nonito Donaire Jr. knocked out Mexican champ Jorge Arce. During the press conference of their fight Arce announced that he is going to knock out Donaire but it was the other way around.

Nonito Donaire Jr. is now a candidate for being the "Fighter of the Year". Nonito Donaire's record is now 31-1-0, 20 KOs and  Jorge Arce's record is now 61-7-2, 46 KOs.

According to interviews Donaire felt heavy during the first and second round. "Buti na lang gumaan" he said.

According to bleacher report, "superfights are still waiting for him at 122 in Abner Mares and Guillermo Rigondeaux. If he chooses to move up to 126, he's got great potential fights in opponents like Orlando Salido, Daniel Ponce de Leon and Billy Dib."

Scoring a quick short right hand in round 2 and finally knocks out Arce at the third round. Donaire will be having a happy homecoming in the Philippines to spend the holidays while Jorge Arce announces his retirement after his loss to Donaire.

If last week many Filipinos mourn for Manny Pacquaio's loss to Marquez, this time is a reason to celebrate Filipino triumph for Nonito Donaire's win.
