Another celebrity was flooded by negative tweets recently. Xian Lim has almost 600,000 followers, and yet he gets a lot of bashers around the Twitterlandia.
Lim shared that netizens usually criticize his acting skills.
Pero I’m pretty sure I know how to handle it. Hindi naman ako magwawala,” he added.
Asked how he handles negative comments, Lim replied: “I really don’t pay attention sa mga negative comments. For me, babasahin ko siya, it’s a good room for improvement kapag in-analyze mo nang konti, na ‘bakit nga kaya nasabi niya ‘yon?’ Pero for me, I don’t reply. Hindi ko sila ini-entertain.”
He added that Twitter and Facebook users can always use the “block” feature.
“Ang laging isipin nila, there’s one basher and there are hundred thousands more who want to listen to positive things na you want to say. So one versus hundred thousands, pipiliin mo lang ‘yung gustong marinig ang positive galing sa iyo,” Lim said.
He believes that artists like him should also be responsible when using social networking sites to avoid problems.
We really have to be careful kasi we might offend other people. Just take it, you don’t have to worry about the people who love you,” the actor said.
Lim believes that despite the negative things happening on Twitter and other social media sites, these are still among the best ways to reach out to their fans.
Over the last two weeks, celebrities including Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez and Sharon Cuneta turned into targets of online bashers.
Cuneta even took a quick break from Twitter after getting personal attacks against her and daughter KC Concepcion.
