Philippine music’s Ultimate Serenader Erik Santos releases another sure fire hit song titled “Bakit Mahal Pa Rin Kita” from his album “Awit Para Sa’yo.”

At the informal press con held at Kitchen Cakes and Coffee attended by music bloggers, Erik felt glad because it was the first time that he experienced interviews like this. “Ang sarap ng feeling kapag bloggers ang nag-iinterview kasi napapag-usapan yung dapat pag usapan…I am the happiest person today” he asserts.

When asked  what is so special about this album he said “Lahat naman ng album ko kina-career ko talaga , mula sa recording, concept, pictorial at production” but this album is focused more in OPM songs. “Pinapalakas namin ang OPM kasi apektado na talaga ang industriya lalo na sa mga piracy at downloads” he mentioned.

When it comes to choice of songs Erik is also a great influence, in fact he also co–produced this album. “Paki-alamero kasi ako so I want everything to went well.”

How would Erick introduce this album to spark anyone’s interest?

“Pure Ballad” He said that this album is a compilation of all great ballad songs.

When asked if he is willing to reinvent himself and if he would go out of his comfort zone he said “Sometimes I also dance(napipilitan)  and showed some skin but at the end of the day I will remain as balladeer.”
In terms of album he wanted to follow the footsteps of Basil Valdez. “Kahit na 60’s na siya meron pa rin siyang album.”

He also mentioned that he wants to be like Martin Nievera because he really performs well in concerts which is also his goal as an artist.

When asked who were his top 3 music idols, he shared 5. Regine  Velasquez, Gary V,  Martin Nievera  , Sharon Cuneta and Lea Salonga. "It’s a dream come true kung magkakaroon kami ng collaboration."

Erik has been so blessed in his career. He is an inspiration to his fans. When he sings at concerts instead of single ladies, it is the mommies who goes close to him when he gets off stage.

“Sabi nung manager ko, mga nanay daw talaga ang market ko” he happily shares. Maybe because my songs were inspirational and they’re the ones who can relate well.

When asked about his plans ten years from now he said “Siguro may asawa’t anak na ako nun” he ends.
