Iza Calzado's Career Move : Dad Urged Me To Transfer ABS-CBN

New Kapamilya star Iza Calzado admitted that her father was one of the people who urged her to transfer to ABS-CBN.

“My dad worked for the other station and he’s very thankful. And so am I. I’m very grateful for all my years there but, of course, he was one with me in wanting new things for me and my career. He wanted me to spread my wings and fly,” she said in an interview recently.

Her dad, director Lito Calzado, died of liver cancer last November 2011.

She said it does not feel the same now that her dad is not around by her side anymore to watch her perform and to cheer her up.

“It’ s just not the same to perform on a stage without my father watching me and telling me
what I did right and what I didn’t do right. Sayang. Pero alam ko naman nakatingin sila ng
nanay ko sa akin,” she said.

She want to prove herself thar her transfer to ABS-CBN is a career move.

Asked what she thinks is her edge over other ABS-CBN stars, she said: “Basta ako gagawin
ko lang ang trabaho ko. I will always give my best. Sabi ko nga if you are destined to shine in
something, you will.”
