PUSONG WAGAS is set in pre-colonial Manila, highlighting the exemplary love of Luyong, a gifted carpenter, and Manda, a tribal princess, and their sacrifice in the face of the coming foreign invaders. Based on the Legend of Mandaluyong, this original contemporary ballet is co-produced by the City of Mandaluyong as an initiative of Hon. Mayor Benjamin Abalos Jr.
PUSONG WAGAS' libretto is by Nicholas B. Pichay, all-new original music by independent music icon Cynthia Alexander, and fresh new choreography by BP Resident Choreographer Alden Lugnasin. Sets are by Mio Infante and costumes by Tuxs Rutaquio.
The cast is led by principal dancers Carissa Adea and Katherine Trofeo, and soloist Richardson Yadao and company member Earl John Arisola. Paul Alexander Morales is BP's Artistic Director.
