The box of Iomega Iconnect

What is Iomega® iConnect Wireless Data ? It is the simple way to bring all of your USB storage into your network. Connect, share and access files anywhere – even over the Internet. I got the chance to review a unit today and here's my experience during the first day.

I have no idea on what will I do about this product since I do not have a personal computer and a router, so let me see if this will work with my laptop and my external hard drives. Today I gathered my 2 external hard drives and remove them both in my laptop. Now I am ready to use Iomega® iConnect Wireless Data

I started installing the software (The unit comes with a CD solution.) installing is fast and easy it only takes less than a minute. Now here are the screenshots during the installation. This will guide new users if they installed the software successfully.

Note: If you have purchased more than one Iomega iConnect, complete all steps on one before setting up additional devices.
Quick Install:
1. Use the included network cable to connect the Iomega iconnect to a network hub or switch.
Note: You must complete this step even if you plan to use the Iomega iconnect wirelessly. Wireless configuration requires a wired connection. Once wireless is configured you can disconnect the network cable.

2. Connect a USB storage device to an available USB port.
I connected the Iomega Iconnect to the powersupply and to my laptop. Since it has 3 USB ports on one side , It would be enough for my 2 hard drives and 1 flash drive.

3. Connect the included power cord to the back of the Iomega iconnect and a power outlet. The Iomega iconnect will power on automatically.

4. Start your computer, wait for the operating syatem to load then insert the CD.
Note: For best results use a computer that is connected to the same router, hub or switch as the Iomega iConnect. If the software doesn't run automatically, double click on the CD icon, then double click the set up icon.
5. Install the Iomega Storage Manager software. Once the installation completes, the storage manager software will launch automatically. This is a screenshot if no drives has been connected yet.

Note: Storage Manager will automatically scan your network when launched.

I am now ready to connect my 2 external hard drives and 1 flash drive to the available USB ports.
The Iomega iConnect is available in any computer store and SRP is Php 7,000.
