Vic Sotto's "My Darling Aswang" is a new Sunday night viewing habit on TV5Sunday evenings have always been a habit of being entertained by Bossing Vic Sotto in a sitcom, and now viewers are automatically switching on to TV5 every Sunday night since the launch of Vic's newest weekly fantasy horror comedy "My Darling Aswang."
A spin-off of the MMFF 2009 top grosser "Ang Darling Kong Aswang," "My Darling Aswang" is the first sitcom project of Vic and his production arm M-Zet Productions on TV5, and is directed by Bert De Leon. It tells the funny, scary, and romantic story of Victor Catacutan (played Vic Sotto), an imaginative horror writer who moves from the province to pursue his horror fiction-writing in Manila where he meets Bella (Daiana Menezes), his beautiful neighbor with whom he immediately falls in love with, despite his unknowing that Bella is the rumored daughter of Demet (Miguel Faustmann), a vampire from Transylvania, and Tasha (Techie Agbayani) an aswang from Visayas.
Upon arriving in Manila, Victor also meets and lives with the motley gang of Mel (Richie D' Horsie), Gas (Jose Manalo), and Bal (Wally Bayola) who he also works with at the Triple C (Call Center Canteen). Adding to the comedy and confusion is Mel's mother Aling Idang (Ces Quesada), the canteen owner and the neighborhood chismosa who always gets the wrong information from Queyni (Kakai Bautista)—Bella’s family maid who always witnesses the aswang family's weird and funny ways, but proves nothing.
Also starring in the sitcom is Starstruck avenger Rhea Nakpil as Dindin, the funny teenage tindera at the sari-sari store in the neighborhood, where most of Aling Idang and her friends' gossipmongering about the aswang family takes place. On its fifth episode this Sunday, Victor tries his luck to finally ask Bella if he can visit her at home. With Aling Idang's nose on the matter, she wonders what Victor sees in Bella even if he knew she's the daughter of a rumored aswang couple.
Victor tries to defend Bella and her family, but Aling Idang is determined to confirm the rumor, where she turns out discovering something else about the aswang couple, Demet and Tasha. Will the neighborhood finally find out about the aswang family? What will happen at Victor and Bella's romantic evening at the aswang family's home? Find out as Vic Sotto treats you to a weekly dose of fantasy, horror, and romantic comedy in "My Darling Aswang," every Sunday at 8:30PM on TV5.
