New Managing Director for Ogilvy Public Relations Philippines
Over a year ago, Leah M. Huang took on the role of OIC and Business Unit Director of Ogilvy Public Relations Philippines at a time marked by challenging economic conditions, the departure of senior and junior personnel, and the mandate to grow the business while boosting fluctuating team morale. “Leah masterfully steered her team to more steady ground—achieving financial targets, replacing non-performing accounts via an aggressive newbiz effort and, most important of all, transforming her team into the more cohesive, revitalized Ogilvy PR it is today,” said Randy Aquino, Ogily & Mather Country Head. “She garnered an unprecedented 100% trust rating on the most recent Employee Acid Test, a true testament to her team’s respect and belief in her leadership.”
“Leah is a rock,” said Andrew Thomas, Ogilvy PR Region Director Southeast Asia. “Against the backdrop of a challenging year, she used 2009 to get all of the basics right –people, clients and great work. The rest is the easy bit, building on a solid reputation with clients and the industry. In the blink of an eye, we will have the smartest brains in the business queuing around the block for the opportunity to be part of the winning team.”
Huang brought to Ogilvy PR over two decades’ experience in the development and implementation of effective communication strategy and issues management along with strong editorial expertise with San Miguel Corporation and Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines. She took post-graduate studies at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts and in Marketing Management from the De La Salle University.
New Managing Director for OgilvyOne and Neo@Ogilvy Philippines
Melissa J. Crucillo is not a stranger to the Ogilvy organization, having assumed various local and regional posts throughout her impressive career. As a client, she has collaborated with Ogilvy & Mather Philippines on some of the most memorable and award-winning Nike 360 campaigns including early Manny Pacquiao efforts.
“Melissa brings with her a wealth of experience in the areas of digital, advertising and regional campaigns. Her major role will be to make Ogilvy clients more and more comfortable with digital marketing as the local team furthers its expertise in this area,” Aquino said. “She is also expected to keep Ogilvy One’s momentum going as O&M Philippines’ fastest growing discipline.”
Crucillo joins Ogilvy after over three years with the Nike organization, where she started as Country Marketing Manager for the Philippines and moved up to the Nike regional office to eventually become the Southeast Asia Brand Marketing Lead. Her career also includes posts with Levi’s Philippines as well as agencies BBDO and Saatchi.
She takes over from Elly Puyat, who has taken on a new challenge as Managing Director of OgilvyOne in Kuala Lumpur after successfully growing the OgilvyOne business and competencies in Manila.
