Maja Salvador, Karylle, JC Intal, and Ryan Gregorio Show off their Individuality through the Unique Customization Process Manila, April 2010—Actress Maja Salavador, singer Karylle, basketball star JC Intal, and champion coach Ryan Gregorio got creative with the mi adidas customization service available at adidas Originals Concept Store in Greenbelt 3.

Through mi adidas, a wide array of adidas shoes, such as the Predator PS, Barricade 5, Pro Model Team color, adizero ACE, Microbounce, TS Bounce Commander, BTB LT, and the TS Lightning Creator, can be customized to suit consumer’s preferences and personality.

Young star Maja Salvador chose the Microbounce, which she had rendered in a cool aqua for the upper mesh and mono pink for its laces. Evoking her love for entertaining, the Chinese character for dance was embroidered on the side while “Maja” was added to the tongue of the customized shoe. She said, “I felt like a kid with a coloring book because I got to chose whatever color I liked! Mi adidas is great because you get colors that are not available in the store.” A running enthusiast, Karylle customized the mi adiZero Ace 2, suited for her high arch-stride. Metallic silver and new navy were the primary colors used in her shoes. “Most of my stuff are pink, even my old running shoes, so I wanted to try manlier colors. Maybe it will make me faster!” said Karylle. Adding a touch of fun, the iconic three stripes of adiZero were painted in acid buzz (neon green). Further personalizing her adiZero, “3HARI,” a contraction of her last name, Tatlonghari, was placed on the overlay.

Hardcourt heroes, JC Intal of Barangay Ginebra Kings and Coach Ryan Gregorio of Purefoods Tender Juicy Giant, opted to paint their mi adidas basketball shoes in the colors of their respective teams. For his mi Supernatural Commander, JC paired a black midsole and red collar with a fresh white body. His surname and jersey number was also emblazoned on the shoe. Coach Ryan created a striking color combination for his mi Supernatural Creator with university red for the quarter (side), collegiate royal for the base, and collegiate yellow for the stripes.

He finished it off with a logo of his favorite NBA team, LA Lakers, at the back, his surname embroidered on the strap, and the number “3,” symbolizing the championship tally in the PBA. “It’s exciting! It’s not every day that you get to design your own shoe,” said the coach. “You have options for almost every part of your shoe. You can choose your own color. You can even choose the material. You can add a teams logo or write your name.” From a design perspective, consumers are able to embroider or engrave a phrase, number, flags, or logos on the shoe upper and of course change the colors of the different parts.

On the performance side, consumers can choose an outsole or studs, upper materials, midsole density, different sizes for left and right as well as different widths. The range of colors and materials result in millions of possible mi adidas combinations! The initial store visit last between 20 to 30 minutes, during which mi adidas experts are on hand to assist consumers through the design configurator. Once the footwear model has been chosen, measurements are taken and uppers designed, the customer can return to the adidas store approximately 20 to 30 days later to collect their customized mi adidas shoes. mi adidas is available in the adidas Original Concept Store in Greenbelt 3, Ayala Center, Makati City.
