Eight young fashion designers competed for the Young Designer of the Year. Mique Yapching, Vanessa Ang, Earl Gariando, JC Sasoy, Kathleen Conde, Brandy Parrenas, Karlo Vicente and Maricar Dizon . March 24, 2009, Tuesday, 7pm, the Awards Night of this competition took place at the grand Isla Ballroom of Edsa Shangri-La Hotel for this years theme: "Cultural Transformation," .Judges were Rajo Laurel, Patrice Ramos-Diaz, Ivarluski Aseron, Alex Pigao and Mich Dulce.The show was hosted by Isabel Litton and directed by Jackie C. Aquino.
MEGA Publishing Group's Carla Sibal, Lorraine Belmonte, Sari Yap and Jerry Tiu presented the award to this year's Grand Prize winner: Vanessa Ang
